Colorectal Consultant

Bio

I am Consultant General, Laparoscopic and Colorectal Surgeon. I did higher surgical training in London Deanery at University College Hospital (UCL) and was awarded CCST by the Royal College of Surgeon Intercollegiate Board. I was the Colorectal Lead, Chairperson for Colorectal MDT and the Head of Enhance Recovery Programme in Surgery (ERAS) at the Trust. I am a National Trainer for Minimally Invasive Haemorrhoidal Surgery (THD) and for the Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery. I am a JAG approved endoscopist and preform screening, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies.

Experience in General Surgery: I am an expert in sports hernia surgery, laparoscopic repair of inguinal hernia, femoral hernia, incisional hernia and umbilical hernia repair. I also specialise in management of gallbladder disease and perform laparoscopic cholecystectomies for gallstones.

Experience in Colorectal Surgery: I am a specialist in management of benign and malignant colorectal conditions and a National Trainer for Minimally invasive haemorrhoid surgery (THD) procedure and Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery. I also specialise in treatment of anal fissure, fistula, anal warts, management of diverticular disease, Illeostomy closure, reversal of Hartmann's, pilonidal sinus treatment, management of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and IBS.

I am a faculty member of FRCS Intercollegiate Examination course and MRCS course. I am keen in research, teaching and training. I am an Educational and Clinical Supervisor and also hold the position of Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University. I am author for a number of scientific and medical publications that can be sited on the Researchgate website. I am a member of CEA (Clinical Excellence Award) committee and an Appraiser for medical and surgical consultants.
