CCICP's General Practitioner Out-of-Hours (GP OOH) service provides urgent primary healthcare needs that cannot safely wait until the patient’s own GP practice is open.

The service operates from Leighton Hospital, Crewe, adjacent to the Hospital’s Emergency Department with a satellite service located at Victoria Infirmary, Northwich.

The GP Out-of-Hours Service provides assessment, advice and treatment as required. The service comprises call handling (with a professional/clinician line), self-care advice, telephone clinical assessment (triage) by a nurse or GP/Advanced Clinical Practitioner including diverting patients to 999/Emergency Department if appropriate, face to face consultations at a primary care centre (Leighton Hospital or VIN) and where clinically indicated home visits at the patients’ place of residence (care home, residential home).

Patients should contact NHS 111 to access the GP OOH Service. They will be asked basic information by a call handler and patients will receive a call back within a timeframe based on urgency of need. Appointments will be provided in addition to arranging GP advice and home visits.
