We are currently testing the latest technology to keep patients safe from falling and to reduce noise on the ward to help patients rest on Ward 10. If successful, this technology could be installed in the new Leighton Hospital. Click the arrow below for more information.

Bedside devices that silently alert staff and allow you to speak with them on their handsets, whilst they are out of the room. This means staff can respond to your requests via their handsets more quickly, whilst giving you more privacy and making the ward quieter and calmer.

To call a member of staff, simply press the red button on your handset. A silent alert will be sent to the member of staff, who will be able to call you back on their handset.

Motion detectors have been installed in the side rooms for patients who are at a greater risk of falling. Using Artificial Intelligence (AI), these monitors detect patterns in movement and will alert staff if a patient is at risk of falling. The equipment used does not store or stream any images or videos that would identify people and no audio is recorded.
