Mid Cheshire has exceeded the national average in the latest Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) results.

The annual assessments see local patient representatives go into hospitals to assess the environment in categories ranging from overall cleanliness and building maintenance through to disability access and ward food.

This focus on quality is at the heart of our own Trust Quality Strategy, emphasising how we work together to provide high quality, compassionate care for every person, every time. Empowering our patients to remain independent whilst in our care is one of the commitments we have made to quality and being able to provide clean and accessible spaces as well as good, nutritious food is essential to delivering on our commitments.

Paula Bamber, Head of Facilities at Mid Cheshire, said: “We’re delighted to not only improve on each of our scores from last year but to also achieve higher than the national average across all areas. The Leighton site improved in all inspected elements, Elmhurst retained their 100% cleanliness score and increased their already excellent scores in food and Privacy and Dignity. VIN gained increases in respect to Cleanliness, Privacy and Dignity, condition/appearance of the site and disability elements.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to all staff at each of our sites for their fantastic work which has led to our improved scores. The Trust has made significant improvements since the last PLACE results were published and continue to monitor compliance to ensure we continue to deliver a high quality care environment for our patients.”
