Mid Cheshire Hospitals is encouraging its patients to take advantage of access to free Wi-Fi and online entertainment including TV, radio and games.
The Trust believes that providing patient entertainment can aid in relaxation and recovery.
It offers free, safe, unlimited Wi-Fi to all of its visitors when they connect to '_Patient_Wifi' at any of the Trust's hospitals.
Patients can also access online entertainment through SPARK® Media by logging on to the Wi-Fi and visiting wifitv.co.uk .
SPARK® Media includes:
- Live and catch-up / on demand TV
- Puzzle games
- Radio including Hospital Radio Leighton
- BBC Music Memories
- BBC Archives
- BBC Interviews
Hospital and Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity information is also accessible through the service.
SPARK® Media is a web-based platform, so anyone in Leighton Hospital, Victoria Infirmary Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre can use this service if they have a smart device that can connect to the internet.
