Patient and their mother with member of staff as well as Santa and Gresty the Lion

Crewe Alexandra Football Club's management team and players made their annual visit to Leighton Hospital in Crewe this week to hand out presents to young patients who may be spending Christmas time away from their homes.

The players and management team, who were joined by club mascot Gresty The Lion and Father Christmas, visited Leighton Hospital's Children's wards as well as the Paediatric area of the Emergency Department. Patients and their families were delighted to meet members of the squad and receive a gift from the team.

Players who attended included First-Team campatin Luke Offord, Harvey Davies, Mickey Demetriou, Ryan Cooney, Max Woodcock, Courtney Baker-Richardson, Lewis Billington, Matus Holicek, Zak Kempster-Down and Christopher Long. First-Team Manager Lee Bell and Under-21s Manager Michael Jackson joined the players in spreading Christmas cheer throughout the ward with the patients, their families and also, the staff.

A thank you to Crewe Alexandra for taking the time to visit the hospital and a thank you to Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity and the staff involved to make the visit possible.
