Any job offer will be subject to you fulfilling any required pre-employment checks. These apply to all candidates, not just international applicants.

These include :

  • Right to work (essentially, to make sure that you have the correct Visa in place to allow you to work in the UK). Mid Cheshire Hospitals will need to verify your immigration status on line, via the UK Government.  You will need to generate a “share code” for us to access this.
  • Identity checks: we will need to see various ID documents to verify your identity.
  • Professional Registration: if you are applying to a professional post, such as Doctor, Nurse, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech & Language Therapist or Radiographer, you will need to hold UK professional registration. You can not be considered for these roles unless you hold the relevant UK registration.
  • Qualifications: we will need to see your professional qualification certificates
  • References: you will need to provide employment or academic references to cover the last  3 years.
  • Occupational Health: you will need to be cleared by our Occupational Health. You will need to provide details of your vaccination history, and TB clearance.
  • DBS (Disclosure & Baring Check) : a DBS check is a police check to see if you have any previous convictions. As the DBS service cannot access criminal records held overseas, we will ask you to provide a police check for your country of origin. You will need to provide this for your visa application also.

How this affects candidates requiring a COS

As a registered sponsor the Trust must establish your suitability for the role, and your good character prior to issuing your certificate of sponsorship, this means that the majority of the pre employment checks must be complete before the CoS is issued.  You will not be able to start work until these checks are complete, your CoS assigned, and your visa application approved and confirmed.  You must not start before you have issued the Trust with an online share code to prove your right to work, and your Recruitment Advisor has issued you with a contract.

Any delay to these clearances will result in a delay to your start date.
