My name is Kate Freeman
I come from a military background having served as a RAF Medic serving in the UK and Overseas.
I have worked for the NHS for 8 years.
During my time at Leighton Hospital, I have worked as a HCA in A&E, Ward 1 and Ward 5.
During the pandemic I was employed as a Duty Discharge Coordinator , assisting, and ensuring the safe discharge of patients in a timely and effective manner.
Following on from this I worked for the Covid Testing Service an incredible, emotional, and extremely challenging role but worked with a fantastic team
My role prior starting work with the colorectal team was a tobacco addiction support worker, supporting patients with their addictions and help them make positive changes to their life’s
Throughout my career patient centred care has always been my aim.
From the first initial appointment with GP My role is to offer support and guidance on the patients journey with effective communication and a friendly ear.
