The Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) has continued to successfully meet the requirements for the Safe, Effective, Quality Occupational Health Service (SEQOHS) accreditation, and is to be reaccredited for a further five years.

The accreditation, first achieved in 2012, is accepted in both the public and private sectors as the recognised industry standard, providing independent recognition that the Trust’s Occupational Health Service (OHS) has continued to deliver a high standard of service.

Now planning for the future, the Trust’s OHS is continuing to develop how it supports staff wellbeing within the organisation with the appointment of a Mental Health Practitioner, as well as exploring how it can best utilise technology to further improve communication between the service and staff.

Keith Williamson, Head of Occupational Health and Clinical Lead at the Trust, said: "I'm delighted the Trust has received this five-year reaccreditation and incredibly proud of the team for this brilliant achievement. Assessors were particularly impressed by the Occupational Health Service's forward-thinking approach to continually review what they do and how they perform, as well as actively seeking to improve following user feedback.

“In common with many clinical services within the Trust, the service was significantly impacted by the pandemic; for the team to be recognised for the improvements made is a clear testament to their ongoing dedicated work. We will continue to strive and are committed to maintaining this accreditation for years to come.”
