Theatre - staff smiling.jpgAt Mid Cheshire, we are committed to embedding a culture of continuous improvement in order to provide the best care possible for our patients.  We do this by working together to make small changes everyday as part of our daily work, therefore continually building on the great care that we already provide and striving to make continual improvements for our staff and patients.

The Continuous Improvement Team at MCHFT comprises skilled improvement leaders with in depth knowledge and skills in Quality Improvement methodologies and LEAN principles.  The team provides accesss to improvement training, coaching and resources to support you to problem-solve and make improvements to things that matter to you within your areas of work.

Our resource is aligned to our Strategic Improvement Aims and annual Improvement Initiatives, where we run Large-Scale Learning Systems and provide improvement coaching in collaboration with ward teams and staff across the Trust to deliver our Quality Vision and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

Improvement Matters

Our single approach to improvement at Mid Cheshire is called Improvement Matters and was launched in June 2022.  Improvement Matters provides a structured approach to problem-solving and a clear and consistent framework for all our improvement activity that is aligned to our Improvement Aims to ensure we are all pulling in the same direction.

Why Improvement Matters?

  • Improvement Matters is based on the ideas of frontline staff; it nurtures and empowers us all to make improvements to provide the best possible care for our patients.
  • Improvement Matters provides a structured approach to problem solving so you can bring your ideas for improvement to life.
  • Improvement Matters is used for all improvement work at MCHFT and can help us to focus our efforts on our biggest challenges aligned to our Strategic Improvement Aims and Trust Strategy.
  • The Continuous Improvement Team can provide access to improvement training, coaching and support to help you throughout your improvement journey and help your improvements to sustain.

Strategic Alignment

Following successful engagement with over 600 staff and patients in March 2022, our Improvement Matters Vision for Quality and Improvement Aims were developed and launched:

Working together to provide high quality, compassionate care for every person every time – person centred, safe and effective.  

These are set out in our Continuous Improvement Operating Model which enables us to align our improvement work and all pull in the same direction in order to improve care for our patients by focusing our improvement efforts on our biggest challenges.
