GP Training

GP vocational training takes place on Thursday afternoons in term time. Further details can be obtained from Dr Sanjiv Shridhar or Dr. Debbie Ford, via the Postgraduate Medical Centre.

Hospital based GP ST1 and GP ST2 Doctors will attend the HDRC (half day release course) one afternoon per month. The teaching is protected and your department will try to ensure you are released to be able to attend. You will participate with the GP Registrars and GP ST trainees who are already based in practices, who attend once a week, and will benefit from a variety of educational presentations and topics from both internal and external speakers, as well as taking part in CSA sessions with actors. Current GP ST Doctors have described the sessions as interactive, sociable, and helpful with exam preparations. At each meeting there is a sponsored buffet lunch which enables the group to build a supportive and friendly network. The CSA pass rate for current attendee’s is very high.
