Pregnancy is a special and exciting time, and if you have diabetes, it’s important to take a little extra care to keep both you and your baby healthy.
Our Community Diabetes Specialist Nursing team is here to support you every step of the way — whether you have Type 1, Type 2, or gestational diabetes. We work closely with your midwife, GP, and hospital team to make sure you receive the care and guidance you need.
We’ll help you manage your blood glucose levels, review your treatment plan, and offer practical advice on healthy eating, blood glucose monitoring, and preparing for birth. Our goal is to help you feel confident, informed, and supported throughout your pregnancy and after your baby arrives.
If you are pregnant and have diabetes, or if you’ve recently been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, you will be referred to our team by your GP or antenatal service. Once we receive your referral, we’ll contact you to offer personalised support and guidance throughout your pregnancy.
