The Trust has been made aware of a road closure in Northwich, near the Victoria Infirmary (VIN), which will impact journeys to and from the hospital.
Work to repair the sewer will take place on Winnington Street from Wednesday 8 April 2026. The site of the work is near to We Support (17-19 Winnington Street), which is around 300m from the entrance to VIN.
In a letter to the Trust, United Utilities Water (UUW) advised that the work will for last approximately 10 days.
The road will be closed to traffic in both directions thereby impacting people attending the VIN. A recommended route for those travelling from the east side of the River Weaver is along the A559 Castle Street / Chester Road, turn right into Moss Road, then right into Winnington Lane. For those travelling into Northwich along Chester Road, turn left into Moss Road. See map below.
The work is being undertaken by Sapphire Utility Solutions on behalf of UUW. The site team will undertake the work between 8am – 4pm, However, the road will remain closed at all times throughout these works.
