Bright Ideas - You Said, We Did

Bright Ideas - You Said We Did

The Bright Ideas scheme was launched in November 2013 for Trust staff, before being rolled out to the public at the end of 2015.  Here are examples of just some of the suggestions which have been taken forward for the benefit of staff, patients and visitors.

360-degree Appraisal for Medical Secretaries

You Said - "I think it would be beneficial if Medical Secretaries could have a 360-degree appraisal which involves input from Clinical Teams and Allied Professionals."

We Did - The Trust is working on designing a supplementary form to be attached to the existing appraisal documents where input from senior colleagues is appropriate and would enhance the quality of the appraisal.

Outdoor Seating

You Said - You wanted more outdoor seating areas for staff and patients.

We Did - A number of new picnic tables have been installed at locations across the hospital where staff, patients and visitors can sit outside.

Portable Entonox Units for Maternity

You Said - Maternity staff suggested changes to the Entonox supply to allow more flexibility for women during labour.

We Did - Portable Entonox units have been ordered and will be used in the Midwifery-led Unit and for home births.  There will also be a unit available for use in the ensuite facilities within the High Risk Unit.
