Mr Shabbir completed his basic surgical training in general surgery and advanced surgical training in upper GI surgery from a prestigious medical institute in Pakistan. After finalising surgical training, he worked as consultant in the state of the art surgical institute in Karachi and Riyadh.

Mr Shabbir moved to the UK in 2009 and worked at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a clinical fellow in Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary and Upper GI Surgery. He completed his fellowship in Pancreatico-Biliary Surgery from Aberdeen in 2009. Since 2010, Mr Shabbir has worked as a Consultant Upper GI Surgeon in Aberdeen and the Wirral before being appointed as a Consultant General and Upper GI surgeon in Leighton Hospital on 1April 2017.


General Surgery. Laparoscopic and Upper Gastrointestinal surgery.

Mr Shabbir has a special interest in Upper Gastrointestinal and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery which forms the majority of his work. He specialises in particular in Upper GI and Pancreaticobiliary surgery.
