Dermatology (East Cheshire)

Service transfer

On 1 June 2021 the East Cheshire dermatology service transferred from Vernova Healthcare to Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The service was transferred to the Trust as host of the Cheshire East Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), an alliance of health and care service providers (including Vernova) who work together to deliver care by agreeing to collaborate rather than compete.

About the service

The East Cheshire dermatology service carries out the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of skin conditions.

If surgical treatment is required, this can usually be provided within the service. Or if more specialist surgery is required (e.g. plastic surgery) the service will help to arrange it.

The service is provided by a team of doctors and nurses with additional training and qualifications in dermatology and/or surgery.

The service is based at Waters Green Medical Centre, Macclesfield, which is where many of the clinics are delivered.

Satellite clinics are also provided in Handforth and Alderley Edge to give patients greater choice and convenience.

A range of clinic times are available during the week, including some evening appointments.
