Public Invited To Health And Wellbeing Fair

H&W Fair

Members of the public are invited to a free health and wellbeing fair which aims to promote the help, advice and support available in Cheshire.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT), which manages Crewe’s Leighton Hospital, will be hosting the event in collaboration with Everybody Sports and Recreation, a health and wellbeing charity based in Cheshire East that improves people’s lives through physical activity and healthy recreation.

It will take place on Friday 27 September at Crewe’s Lifestyle Centre, between 10am and 1pm.

The fair will consist of a variety of free activities and health checks to get involved in, as well as displays from Age UK Cheshire, One You Cheshire East, Body Positive, Healthwatch, Cheshire Fire and Rescue, Everybody Sport and Recreation and many more.

A number of departments from Leighton Hospital will also be holding displays.

Donna Williamson, Senior Health and Wellbeing Manager at Everybody Sport and Recreation, said: “We are pleased to be holding the health and wellbeing fair in collaboration with Mid Cheshire Hospitals following the success of previous events. The event is a great opportunity to find out about health and wellbeing support options available in the local area.”

The Trust, which also runs Victoria Infirmary in Northwich and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, will also be holding its Annual Members’ Meeting on the day.

Members of the Trust, along with the general public, are invited to join the Board of Directors and Council of Governors to find out the latest about the Trust, its sites and its achievements during 2018/19.

Dennis Dunn MBE, Chairman of the Trust, said: “Our Annual Members’ Meeting provides a wonderful opportunity for local people to engage with their local hospitals, ask any questions they have, meet the staff who work there and learn more about the service improvements that have taken place over the last year.

“The event is open to everyone, and attendees can also find out how they can become Members of the Trust in order to have their say on local healthcare, how facilities are run and how they can be developed in the future."

The Annual Members’ Meeting will begin at 12.45pm with lunch available for those who attend.

Those wishing to attend the Annual Members’ Meeting can register their interest in advance or ask any questions about the meeting or the Health and Wellbeing Fair by contacting 01270 612365 or emailing foundation.trust@mcht.nhs.uk
