25 November 2020

A local business has sponsored a hospital charity scheme that encourages children to fundraise.

Local solicitors Hall Smith Whittingham has announced they will be sponsoring The Young Fundraiser Scheme, which has been set up by Mid Cheshire Hospitals (MCH) Charity.

The initiative has been designed to get more children into charity work and will help to raise money to support local NHS services.

MCH Charity recognised that throughout lockdown lots of local children where using their time at home to create fun ways to fundraise and wanted to encourage more children to get involved by offering rewards for their efforts.

Young fundraisers are able to work towards bronze, silver and gold trophies to share with their family, school or nursery. The scheme is open to children of all ages and covers three age ranges: tiny (0 – 5 years old), junior (5 – 11 years old) and teen (11 – 16 years old).

Emma Appleyard, Partner, Head of Dispute Resolution at HSW, said: “At Hall Smith Whittingham Solicitors we take great pleasure in getting involved with local charities which have such an impact in our local community. In this uncertain time it is our opportunity to give back and to support the local community.”

Carole Salmon, MCH Community Fundraiser, said: “We especially love the drive and enthusiasm of our young fundraisers and this is a perfect way to celebrate their achievements. They are so many ways to fundraise that are COVID secure. They can make and sell items, do a fitness challenge or something else of their own choosing.”

To find out more about the scheme parents, carers and schools are asked to contact Carole Salmon, MCH Charity Community Fundraiser, on 07467 687998 or email carole.salmon@mcht.nhs.uk or visit MCH Charity social media pages on Facebook and Twitter @mchcharity
