Hospital Trust Thanks Community For Patient Donations

Christmas donations (2017)

9 January 2018

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT), in partnership with Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity, would like to say a huge thank you to the local community for the generous donations received over the recent festive period.

The Trust’s younger patients, based on the Child and Adolescent Unit (CAU) at Leighton Hospital, were provided with a number of toys, games and gifts thanks to donations by staff and customers of local businesses, as well as individuals. These included:

  • Mr and Mrs Murphy of ‘Northwich in Need’ who donated toys to the children’s ward.
  • Volkswagon Crewe donated wrapped gifts and brought Santa along with them who personally handed out presents to our younger patients.
  • Crewe Alexandra FC, whose players visited the Child and Adolescent Unit to meet patients and donated presents on behalf of the club.
  • Thank you to Cheshire West and Chester Highways and their highways contractor, Ringway, for their continued support. This year they donated chocolates and treats to the children’s ward.
  • Area 51 Gym who provided the ward with wrapped presents, which were donated by members of the gym.
  • Thank you to Assurant for their continued support and for donating a number of selection boxes this year.
  • Ellie Bramhall whose friends and family collected gifts and chocolates that were given to patients, staff and parents on the ward.
  • Catherine and friends who kindly donated their pub quiz winnings to the ward, which consisted of a portable DVD player, DVDs and games.
  • Mecca Bingo who donated gifts and sweets.
  • Emily Isherwood who donated chocolate reindeers to the children’s ward.
  • Jaxon Colley and her family who donated cheese and crackers to the staff on the children’s ward.
  • Paul Singh and friends from the Scooter Club kindly gave the younger patients on the ward a selection of toys.
  • Tracey and Darren Jennings who donated a large selection of toys.
  • Regan Stirk, Northwich RUFC Rugby player, donated an Xbox One to the ward after winning it in a raffle.
  • Teresa Woodward, who donated a number of selection boxes.
  • Ryan Jones, who gave the ward numerous toys to give to our younger patients.
  • Minshull Nurseries who raised £1219.93 for the ward through £2 donations from members of the public to see santa.
  • Thank you to everyone who has shown continued support and donated time or gifts to the ward throughout the year. Your kind donations and time spent makes a real difference to our younger patients.

Other patients in the hospital also benefited from donations and activities such as ward-based parties and a number of choir performances.

Emma Robertson, MCH Charity Manager, said: “We are delighted that once again so many individuals, community groups and businesses have chosen to support their local hospital at Christmas time.

Their gifts and donations really do make a difference to those who unfortunately find themselves in hospital at this time of year and we are very grateful to everyone who has supported us.”
